"Earning my Masters degree online with Boston University was a positive experience that exceeded all my expectations. When I began the program, I had a very clear objective for the end of this online voyage: an accreditation. However, I did not have any expectations about the process of getting there, and the journey proved to be one that challenged my assumptions about online learning. Rather than the page-turning, self-guided tutorial toward an exam that I anticipated, I found the program to be a collaborative effort with the others from my cohort.
There was positive interaction with the instructor and facilitator, but the real learning happened in my groups, dealing with other students from all over the country on teleconferences and through email, all working together to complete our course objectives. Given the fact that this is exactly how I achieve 80% of my business goals – by working collaboratively at a distance – I found this online learning method to be a rewarding and efficient use of my time. Based on this first very successful experience, I plan to continue my education online." — Liam Cheung
